hi jeff,
i don’t know that much spanish,
but the song “head, shoulders, knees and toes” i do know. :]
so just to show you,
the body parts in that are:
cabeza = head
hombros = shoulders
piernas = knees
pies = toes (actually pies means foot or feet and dedos de pies is toes, but doesn’t fit in the rhythm of the song)
ojos = eyes
orejas = ears
boca = mouth
nariz = nose

I’ll speak with our Spanish teacher. She teaches K-8 and I think we should have enough time to create a scavenger hunt video. I didn’t see any “official rules”, but can follow the format of your previous Scavenger Hunts.

Hi PS124! Mr. Craft here, sorry the students are on vacation so I jumped in to answer your questions…

1. My kids use my personal MacBook Pro and a copy of iMovie HD (6). We tried MovieMaker and Pinnacle 10 and the kids found them to be just too hard to use and MovieMaker crashed a lotl

2. No, Youtube is blocked from our school, hence the teachertube links on each episode (well, that’s a recent thing).

3. No, but we can see teachertube so we use those links when we’re at school.

We’re going to be announcing soon a do-your-own-scavenger-hunt, maybe you’d be interested in collaborating that way? We’re going to check out your site too!

I like this idea! I collaborate with students on video and web productions. I have a few questions about your process:
1. what software are the kids using for their video production and compression?
2. are you able to upload your videos from your school (the Department of Ed blocks file uploads in New York City)
3. are you able to see Youtube videos in your school (the Department of Ed blocks YouTube and Google Video in New York City)

Answers to these questions would be really helpful to our process!

Hey Spanish Teachers,

All of your episodes are great. You may want to try breaking up your shots. For instance, in this episode you look into a dictionary, you could shoot the dictionary and then insert the shoot as you look down to read it. This helps break things up and creates a nicer visual experience for your viewers. Also, your sound is coming in mono, single channel. What kind of camera and editing software are you using?

Otherwise, my 8th graders are very impressed with your show. We can’t wait for episode 4! Happy Holidays from Las Vegas, Nevada.

What a cool idea!! Your scavenger hunt for Spanish was really neat. Tell your class I love the website. They are doing a great job! I can’t wait to share it with my 7th grade teachers.
