Hi PS124! Mr. Craft here, sorry the students are on vacation so I jumped in to answer your questions…

1. My kids use my personal MacBook Pro and a copy of iMovie HD (6). We tried MovieMaker and Pinnacle 10 and the kids found them to be just too hard to use and MovieMaker crashed a lotl

2. No, Youtube is blocked from our school, hence the teachertube links on each episode (well, that’s a recent thing).

3. No, but we can see teachertube so we use those links when we’re at school.

We’re going to be announcing soon a do-your-own-scavenger-hunt, maybe you’d be interested in collaborating that way? We’re going to check out your site too!

I like this idea! I collaborate with students on video and web productions. I have a few questions about your process:
1. what software are the kids using for their video production and compression?
2. are you able to upload your videos from your school (the Department of Ed blocks file uploads in New York City)
3. are you able to see Youtube videos in your school (the Department of Ed blocks YouTube and Google Video in New York City)

Answers to these questions would be really helpful to our process!

Our class is following your progress on Teach Jeff Spanish. This is a fabulous idea and we are very impressed! Since we are collaborating with a class in Colombia, learning Spanish is becoming important for us. Keep up the great work and we can’t wait to hear/see more!

What a cool idea!! Your scavenger hunt for Spanish was really neat. Tell your class I love the website. They are doing a great job! I can’t wait to share it with my 7th grade teachers. I grew up in Greenville, South Carolina so I’ve been to Columbia many times. I’m the principal of Discovery Middle School in Madison, Alabama.
